The Art of Satisfaction
Wong Kai Lin
“My name is Kai Lin. I’m from Guizhou. Pickled cucumber and Sichuan Chicken are my all-time favourites. I would also make my own chilli sauce to spice up noodles, in soup or cold. It tastes great and refreshing, plus it helps expel dampness from the body.”

I used to be grumpy, but painting calms me. In every lesson, I just draw according to the theme decided by our instructor. I enjoy the process of painting and immerse in the world of creativity. Through mixing and matching different colourstit helps me stay focused and calm. Art plays a crucial role in my life. From painting and music, I’ve found peace, and it’s a great help on my emotions.
I love sharing paintings and food with friends. That is why I paint chilis and lemons as a means of sharing food that I love. When I painted the lemons, I could almost feel the zestful taste of lemon water. But I only tried avocado once. The flavour was subtle, but it was okay. An avocado cut in half looks a bit like an egg yolk.

”I am very happy when I know someone who likes my drawings. I am willing to listen the opinions from others which help me improve my painting.”
